Lord Goldsmith of Richmond Park took up his post on November 1
Zac Goldsmith has been named as the latest UK Government minister of state for overseas territories at the Foreign Office. Lord Goldsmith, who is also the UK minister for climate and the environment, replaced Jesse Norman, who served as overseas territories minister during Liz Truss’s brief stint as prime minister in September and October of this year.
Lord Goldsmith is a life peer and is known for his support of environmental issues and has funded the conservation of wildlife in the overseas territories.
Lord Goldsmith is the third overseas territories minister appointed in 2022.
