The baroness has quit in protest over the slashing of Britain’s foreign aid budget
Less than 12 months after taking up her appointment, Baroness Sugg has quit her post in protest over the slashing of Britain’s foreign aid budget by almost a third. She took over the role as overseas territories minister in February, replacing Lord Tariq Ahmad.
Baroness Sugg’s letter of resignation to prime minister Boris Johnson declared it “fundamentally wrong” to cut foreign aid spending particularly at a time of unprecedented global crises.
