Prime minister Boris Johnson has promised the UK’s new immigration policy will put “people before passports”
Addressing more than two dozen African presidents and prime ministers in an opening speech to the UK-Africa investment summit in London on Monday, the prime minister used his set to advocate for stronger trade and investment ties with the UK, suggesting African nationals could benefit from the forthcoming changes to the immigration system post-Brexit.
Without providing any specifics, Johnson claimed the new system would be fairer and more equal between Britain’s global friends and partners and stated that people would be treated the same regardless of their country of origin.
