BermudaFirst, an apolitical advisory group made up of eight working groups and 90 participants, has proposed changes to certain sectors in Bermuda’s economy and society that have historically been regarded as problematic such as healthcare, education, the high cost of living and immigration, and has published its findings in a document entitled the ‘Future State Report’.
Immigration was found to be a topic of concern amongst all of the working groups and policies to spur economic growth have been suggested in the report with the aim of promoting a more constructive view of immigration by stressing the correlation between job creation and a healthy economy.
The report can be read in its entirety here.
