Anguilla’s governor Governor Tim Foy has sought to reassure the public that they can be certain of the continued support of the UK government regardless of the outcome of Brexit negotiations
According to Foy, the UK government will continue to ensure that the interests of Anguilla and the other British Overseas Territories are fully represented and reflected in negotiations with the EU. The right to hold a British passport will not be altered therefore Anguillians will continue to be able to enter the UK and to work there free from any visa restrictions. they will also be able to visit the USA under the existing Electronic System for Travel Authorization programme and current arrangements for travel between St. Martin/St. Maarten will not change.
The governor also assured islanders that the UK government would make good any loss of EU funding under the current round of the European Development Fund should the EU decline to meet this commitment.
