The efficiency of the Department of Immigration in dealing with work permit applications was one of the topics raised in talks between government officials and the body that represents the island’s international reinsurance industry.
Wayne Caines, the Minister of National Security, and Permanent Secretary Collin Anderson, met John Huff, chief executive officer of the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (“ABIR”), and Suzanne Williams, ABIR’s director of policy and regulation, yesterday. During the meeting, updates on the Department of Immigration’s progress on immigration reform and its success in reducing the backlog of work permit applications were given.
